The short version: Lantern collects nothing. It stores no personal data, keeps no copy of your catalogue, sets no cookies, and sends nothing to any third party. There is no account to create and no data for us to lose.
Lantern is a product search app published by Lucency (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to data when Lantern runs on a site that has installed it. It applies to both the site owner and to visitors who use the search box.
Nothing. When a visitor types a search, the text is sent to the store's own catalogue to find matching products, and the results are shown. The search text is not stored, not logged, not profiled and not used to build any record of that visitor. No cookies are set and no tracking identifiers are created.
Nothing beyond what the platform requires. Installing Lantern grants it permission to read the products in your store so it can search them. That access is read-only. We do not copy, export, retain or transmit your catalogue anywhere. Lantern keeps no index and no database.
On installation, Lantern requests read-only permissions to your store catalogue and site content. It uses them solely to answer searches in real time, and only while a search is happening. It cannot create, change or delete anything in your store.
There are none. Lantern does not use an external search service, an analytics provider, an advertising network or any other third-party processor. Searches are answered by your own site platform, and nothing leaves it.
Since no data is collected, there is nothing to retain, and nothing to delete. Uninstalling Lantern removes its access immediately.
Lantern is a tool for site owners and is not directed at children. Because it collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children either.
If Lantern ever begins collecting data, this policy will be updated before that change ships, and the date at the top will change. We would not introduce data collection quietly.
